Lela is a public affairs professional with experience in political communications, policy research, and government relations.

Before joining Steer PR, she worked in Washington, D.C., supporting federal and state-level advocacy through her role at The Vogel Group, where she prepared policy memos, briefing materials, and supported client communications across multiple issue areas. Her work required close attention to legislative activity, stakeholder priorities, and the translation of complex policy developments into clear, actionable insights.

Lela has also served on Capitol Hill, where she supported legislative and constituent operations by drafting memos, assisting with legislation, and coordinating constituent engagement. She brings additional experience from statewide and federal political campaigns, working directly with voters, managing outreach, and supporting election day operations.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Lela earned her Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs and Political Science from the University of Georgia. She studied Spanish at the Universitat de Barcelona and currently resides in Washington, D.C.
